Stitches & Seams

Individually made, Uniquely worn

Here you can learn how to sew, or have something sewn.

Offering sewing workshops and short courses for adults & children in a friendly and supportive environment. We can help you develop the sewing skills necessary to start and develop your own handmade wardrobe. Or mend and repair the wardrobe you already own.

If you really don’t want to make your own, we can do it for you; offering bespoke, one-off clothes; alternatively, supplying off the peg items at markets and local events.

Workshops

Do you struggle to find clothes that you like or that fit?

Do you have a child who needs an absorbing activity or is desperate to learn?

Have you always wanted to learn how to make your own clothes and use a sewing machine?

Either which way, you can come and learn how to sew in a friendly and relaxed environment. Using the most environmentally friendly products we can find, you can make something new and improved.

For Adults

We offer one day workshops for adult and focus on producing a specific garment that you (or a loved one) will be able to wear. All materials, equipment, fabric and pattern are included (unless otherwise stated) and you get lunch too!

For Children

For 10 - 14 year olds we offer short courses - three classes of 2 hours each class. During these, they focus on learning key skills that they can take away and use at home or at school. They work on a variety of projects (some as a group, some individually of their choice) and get to take home all their creations. All materials and equipment are included.

Bespoke

We also offer bespoke and 1 - 2 - 1 lessons if you want to work on particular project or skill, or your child falls outside the age range. Get in touch to discuss your needs and we shall see if we can help.

What People Say

“Emma made my mother of the bride dress. She is amazing… Emma made me very comfortable and she understood all my quirks. We settled on a style and fabric and then she worked her magic. It was beautiful and the fit was amazing. Everyone commented on the dress... I could not recommend Emma enough.”

Christine

“Emma's workshop was fantastic. Within one day, I learned all the skills and confidence necessary to transform scraps of fabric into an iPad case that I could use and take home. The day was perfectly paced and honestly, had THE BEST TIME! Went home with a huge smile.”

Ana

“My 11 year old daughter has done about 6 workshops with Emma. Every time she's come home with a beautiful finished project and her sewing machine skills are now much better than mine! Emma has lovely fabrics and machines so the end products are very good quality. My daughter loves the workshops and is always keen to go back. I love that she can confidently make things at home on our ancient machine.”
